What do the "Wabenkirche", the "Großgarage Süd" and the AOK building have in common? - They are all epoch-making testimonies to what is probably the most influential art movement of modernism: the Bauhaus. To this day, this school of design with its powerful, straightforward design language has lost none of its fascinating power and continues to impress and inspire in equal measure. What is often forgotten: Alongside Weimar and Dessau, Halle also became one of the most important centers of the Bauhaus style in the 1920s.

On our guided city tour, you will put aside the textbooks and experience the masterpieces of modernism as they were once envisioned by their creators: as functional buildings that you can feel with your own eyes and experience with your own senses. Together with an art historian and knowledgeable guide, you will gradually experience the exciting history of modern building in Halle.
